Home Of The Raised Insulated Garden Boxes

As far as we are aware, these are the only commercially available garden boxes of this type available anywhere.

Why Raised Garden Boxes?

Accessibility: By raising the garden to a comfortable working height, more people are able to enjoying gardening. People who have difficulty bending, kneeling, or stooping are able to garden from a sitting or standing position which is more comfortable for them. People using mobility devices are able to enjoy gardening safely, not having to lean over the edge to reach the garden.

Flexibility: Our raised garden boxes can be placed on any surface. Unlike, the traditional raised beds that are place directly on soil, our boxes can be placed on roof tops, concrete, asphalt, gravel, sand or grass. By trimming the posts to fit, the box may be installed on a slope. The modular design allows them to be broken down and assembled on decks, balconies, patios or atrium. There are 138 variation of width, length, depth and height that should fit any space or need.

Bed Protection: There are all kinds of critters and contaminates that can destroy your garden. Getting your garden off the ground reduces greatly the numbers and types of things that can adversely affect your garden. We line our boxes with plastic rather than use a sealant to eliminate the possibility of chemicals leaching into your growing medium.

Why Insulated Garden Boxes?

Root Protection: The advantage planting directly in the ground has is that the soil mass is capable of storing warmth from the sun protecting the roots. The problem with typical container gardening is that there isn't enough soil to protect the roots over a winter, so growing perennials is difficult unless you bring the containers in for the winter months.

Season Extender: The combination of heat absorption techniques and insulation means an earlier start of the season, and a later end to it. Even without the addition of our cold frame or insulated greenhouse tops.

Why the double wall construction?

Strength: I borrowed the technology of SIP (structural insulated panels) from the leading edge of construction techniques. Not only is our inner box stronger, but by maintaining separation from the outer frame there is a low thermal bridging, and high infiltration resistance.

Ventilation: The air space between the out and inner walls acts as a deterrent to mold and rot.

Variety: The simple wood framing system allows for practically unlimited options for the types of siding. Anything that can be screwed, nailed or glued to wood can be used on the exterior.
